Stelvio Pass on a bicycle

A long-cherished dream: getting up to the Stelvio Pass on a bicycle. I was able to fulfil it in late autumn 2018 after a long period of preparation. How did it come about?

Alpine passes: My top 10

Lesedauer // Reading time: 2 Min. I learned to ride a motorcycle on the Stelvio Pass. Over 30 years ago, I steered into one of the 48 famous hairpin bends for the first time – on a motorcycle that was basically unsuitable…

100,000 kilometres on the Ducati 748s

Ducati 748s: Not the bike best known for long-distance touring and conquering the steep passes of the Alps. But who says it can’t be done?
Ein sonniger Platz in einer kleinen Ortschaft im Unterengadin. Im Vordergrund steht ein graues Elektromotorrad neben einem Brunnen, dessen klares Wasser ruhig in das rechteckige Becken fließt. MotorProsa: About me

That’s me – Jürgen ‘JvS’ Theiner

My name’s Jürgen Theiner – I write motorcycle stories, tell you about my rides and the fast existence on my motorcycles. I introduce you to my motorcycles and describe how I get on with them. I take you on my favourite roads and tell you about my journeys in the convertible car. I write with my heart and passion, my motorcycle stories convey – hopefully – a little of the non-ordinary things you can experience on two wheels.

Riding my motorcycles, taking photos and writing about my experiences. Collecting impressions while rolling through the world, marvelling, freeing my thoughts to collect them again at the end of the day and create something new with them – all this has accompanied me for more than 30 years.

I am very lucky to live in the motorcycle paradise of South Tyrol. My homeland is surrounded by the steepest passes, the highest mountains, a vast landscape – and I can enjoy the winding life uninhibited at the foot of the Ortler and in the hairpin bends of the Stelvio Pass. Some of this happiness I pass on to you as „MotorProsa – Tales from the Curve“, as motorcycle literature.

.. and take a ride with me!
It can be fast, it can be loud, it will be weird and sometimes quite colourful. But it can also be quiet, calm, thoughtful, grey and gloomy.

I’m glad to have you with me!
It’s not just about me: you’re welcome to comment and rate my tales, and to share my motorcycle tales on social media.
